Valley venues from 1969-1972, have been preserved in the private collection of posters from the original artst, Thomas Morris. Included in this historic archive is the Northern California Folk-Rock Festival poster that has hung in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and is now in their traveling tour. The event was held at the Santa Clara Fairgrounds in 1970, and featured the Doors, The Animals, Big Brother, Jefferson Airplane, Country Jo, The Youngbloods and more.

During this period, with roommate Frank Carson, they worked with local promoters designing psychedelic graphics for SF publisher, Celestial Arts. Their "Kiss Me" poster hung on TV’s Mod Squad Peggy Lipton’s wall. When Frank moved East to pursue a fine arts career, Thomas went deeper into the area’s counter-culture arts scene, building the alternative print shop, JellyRoll Press with his new Digger family of friends. During this period, Thomas learned to prepare and print all of his own rock posters on large, offset printing presses.

A cross-section of his rock posters is chroni- cled in the collector’s edition book "The Art of Rock". Sometimes producing a poster a week, his work often featured multiple colored ink fountains, often with no two posters looking the same.

You can email Thomas for inquiries regarding purchasing originals or prints.
